Spring Harvest Excellence

Spring Sun is cultivated in full sunlight and harvested during spring's first flush – the most prized harvest season in Japanese tea production. Sun-grown tea plants develop robust, flavorful leaves with enhanced body and character, making this Sencha ideal for those who appreciate bold, authentic Japanese green tea.

What is Sencha Tea?

Sencha (煎茶), meaning "brewed tea," is Japan's most beloved tea, accounting for 80% of all Japanese green tea production. Renowned for its distinctive emerald color and fresh, vegetal taste, Sencha represents the heart of Japanese tea culture.

Traditional Japanese Tea Processing

Spring Sun Sencha is crafted using authentic Japanese steaming and rolling methods:

  1. Immediate Steaming: Fresh leaves are steamed for 40-50 seconds immediately after harvest to preserve vibrant green color and prevent oxidation
  2. Multi-Stage Rolling Process:
    • Rough rolling to remove moisture
    • Strong rolling for shape development
    • Middle rolling for consistency
    • Fine rolling to create signature needle shapes
  3. Result: Beautiful, uniform needle-shaped leaves that define premium Japanese tea
